In my life and in my art, I want to talk about relationships, connection, diversity: the heart of the issues I believe we need to address in order to leave this world just a little bit better than when we came into it. That’s why I invited musicians accomplished in the areas of jazz, classical, rock and folk music, to come together with me to participate in a grand experiment. In so doing, we learned that combining diverse and indigenous musical instruments with traditional jazz, folk, rock and classical music structures produces interesting and heartfelt meditations, sounds and grooves. And so, in that moment, we began our journey together – our Gathering. . The celebration of musical diversity found in this work is also a celebration of life and creative energy as it emanates from the collective imagination of many wonderful and talented people. As one reviewer said, “It’s complete insanity, but brilliant!”
